Internet is a necessity
We always seem to take for granted some of the most significant technological breakthroughs that help propel our society into a new era. Internet access is one technology that has changed the way we work, live, and play. The Internet and especially broadband become such a part of our life, that it is now a necessity rather than a luxury. We could hardly even give its significance a second thought. We use the Internet for personal communication, our finances, entertainment, dating, news, research, and much more.
How long could you live without access to any computer or Internet? Have you become seriously addicted to the Internet? What would happen if your computer crashed and you could not get it fixed, or buy another one to replace it? How would you survive?
It is not just the downloading, gaming, or chatting... the Internet is used for basically everything. I get up at 5 a.m., turn on my laptop to publish my blog entries, check the messages and read the news before going to work. I am over-reliant on the Internet and for one day, I spend at least 10 hours in front of the computer. Everything is just easier with Internet access. It is like an all-in-one for me. When I take a business trip, Internet access is something that I really care. I can definitely live without a mobile (I do not even answer phone calls unless necessary, even though I have one mobile and one PHS handset in my pocket) but I doubt I could survive long without the Internet.
