Motivation
What motivates you to succeed? When the going gets tough, Ken would like to think about how the task will help him out in the future. As for Robert, one of the biggest motivations is from his friends. A few close friends of his are working hard, and he follows their lead. But for some others, family, girls, money, etc. are factors too, though they may hate to admit it.
Mary does not really know what motivates her to work hard. She thought her motivation is either to become really successful then have revenge on all those who stepped or kicked her when she was down or to show all those around her how much better she is or so. It seems that what motivates her is self-esteem.
Think about what makes your heart beat the fastest, it will enhance you to perform better. When I was young, a big motivation for me was my parents! I always had in my mindset that what I was doing and studying was for them. I wanted to be able to earn a good living and be able to financially help them out when they were older so that they could retire in comfort knowing that their son will take care of them if any horribly goes wrong... but both of them passed away all on a sudden.
Later, what motivated me was when someone was better than me, and I took the challenge, even though they may have beaten me in many aspects. I would try my hardest to beat them.
Right now, what motivates me is just having a high ego. The ego pushes me and does not let myself down at any point. It is that I am not afraid of failure and I know anything can be achieved as long as I believe in it. So my ego and belief is what motivates me to continue on during the bad and rough times. My primary concerns are accomplishments and competitiveness. I just want to stay ahead of the game of life.
